Introduction

This is an attempt to summarise the various software development processes in SSIS. It is by no mean complete. Additions are welcome.

The sections that follow are divided on a top to bottom approach, beginning with hardware choice and then to software.


Hardware Platform

  • PC

PC with Intel (or compatible AMD) processors monopolise this platform. Having no choice can be a blessing.

    • Microsoft Windows
    • Linux
    • Mac OS X (UNIX; based on BSD)
  • FPGA

We went with Altera because we get good support from/through Kevin. PM knows more about this.

  • PDA

We've been using PocketPC.

  • Mobile phones
